Slipknot No. 9 Reserve Whiskey
Slipknot No. 9 Reserve Whiskey is a 750mL blend bottled at 49.5% ABV (99 proof), made from straight rye and straight bourbon whiskeys aged 4–5 years — every drop mashed, fermented, distilled and aged at Cedar Ridge Distillery in Iowa. The Reserve steps up from the standard No. 9 in both proof and component age, blending Iowa corn sweetness against rye spice in a collaboration between the Iowa-born band Slipknot and Iowa's Cedar Ridge. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

An Iowa Band, an Iowa Distillery, a Bigger Proof
Slipknot and Cedar Ridge are both Iowa institutions, and No. 9 was built as a shared-Iowa project: Slipknot founder Shawn "Clown" Crahan points to the Iowa corn in the mash and the extra spice the rye brings, while Cedar Ridge head distiller Murphy Quint's brief was a bold, distinctive whiskey that would satisfy a whiskey drinker regardless of the band tie-in. The Reserve answers that brief with older components and a 99 proof bottling strength. Explore the distillery on the Cedar Ridge Distillery vendor page, or browse our American whiskey collection.
Tasting Notes
The brand characterises the Reserve as bold, sweet and spicy from the corn-and-rye balance at full 99 proof. Critic Fred Minnick, in a note hosted on the brand's product page, found cinnamon, clove, butter and oak on the nose, a buttery, coating palate evoking cornbread, fried apple pie, apricot and macaroon, and a medium-to-long finish with a banana-foster hint.
How to Enjoy
Neat or with a few drops of water to open the rye spice; the proof also stands up in an Old Fashioned. More Iowa and Midwestern pours are in our whisky collection.
