Riqueza Cultural Rubi Corazon Anejo Tequila is the aged expression of the Rubí Corazón line — 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL, 100% agave, rested in oak as an añejo and bottled in the line's signature ruby-red presentation, shaped around a heart-shaped opening in honour of the ruby and the Aztec sacred heart. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 40% (80 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Agave: 100% agave (official line claim)
  • Class: Anejo — aged in oak
  • Bottle: Ruby-red heart presentation with a heart-shaped opening
  • Origin: Jalisco, Mexico (Riqueza Cultural); the line's ceramic Añejo is listed at NOM 1459, Tequila Selecto de Amatitan

The Heart, Aged

Of the Rubí Corazón expressions, the Añejo is the one the producer bottles two ways — in the line's glass presentation and as a ceramic heart, moulded and painted by artisans from Tonalá, Jalisco. Both carry the same symbolism the brand builds the line on: the ruby, from the Latin for red, for passion, love and romanticism — in antiquity, drops of blood from the heart of mother earth — and the heart itself, sacred in the Aztec tradition, balancing body, mind and spirit. The liquid is the line's aged step: the bright agave of the Plata, deepened by oak into woody, caramel-toned maturity. Compare it across our anejo tequila shelf, browse the range in tequila, or see the whole family on the Riqueza Cultural vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Vanilla, chocolate and cooked agave (house añejo profile). Palate: A deep woody character that stays soft and delicate, with rich caramel and butterscotch tones. Finish: Long and warm.

How to Enjoy

Neat, as a digestif pour — the añejo step is the sipping end of the Rubí line, and the heart bottle is the centrepiece it arrives in.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the ceramic version? Both a glass and a ceramic Rubí Corazón Añejo exist, and Del Mesa lists a ceramic bottling under its own title — check the product photo for the bottle in hand. The ceramic version is the one listed at NOM 1459 (Tequila Selecto de Amatitan) and described as moulded and painted by Tonalá artisans.

How long is it aged? The producer publishes no duration for the Rubí Añejo. Añejo as a class means at least a year in oak — treat that as the category definition, not a stated spec for this bottle, and be wary of the precise figures retailer copy circulates for it.

How does it differ from the Reposado? Time and depth: the Reposado is the "Rested" sorting, bright gold and lightly woody; the Añejo is the "Aged" sorting, deeper in colour and in its woody, caramel-toned character.
