The Charra, Bottled by Hand

Riqueza Cultural builds every bottling around a figure from Mexican tradition, finished individually by Mexican artisans — and the Charra is the woman of the charrería, Mexico's national equestrian culture, whose roots run back to the colonial-era haciendas of Jalisco. The producer presents the figure with an embossed sarape label and an authentic charro hat, as a symbol of Mexican identity — cheerful, proud and bohemian in character. The liquid comes from Tequila Selecto de Amatitan (NOM 1459) in the Los Valles lowlands, the valley floor country where brick ovens and roller mills are the traditional toolkit. Browse its sibling figure on our anejo tequila shelf, the wider range in tequila, or the whole artisan family on the Riqueza Cultural vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Vanilla, chocolate and cooked agave (house añejo profile). Palate: Woody and soft, the barrel resting over sweet cooked agave rather than burying it. Finish: Warm and smooth.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat at room temperature — a decanter bottle like this is poured slowly and looked at while it lasts. The emptied bottle is the keepsake the range is designed to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a charra? The female counterpart of the charro — a rider in Mexico's charrería, the traditional equestrian culture of the hacienda era, recognised by UNESCO as part of Mexico's cultural heritage. Riqueza Cultural's range honours the tradition figure by figure.

Where is it made? At Tequila Selecto de Amatitan, NOM 1459, in Amatitan in the Los Valles region of Jalisco, from 100% Tequilana Weber agave.

How long is it aged? The producer does not publish a rest duration for this bottling, and its class depends on the presentation — ceramic bottlings of this figure are sorted "Extra Aged" by the producer, glass bottlings "Aged." Check the product photo for the vessel in hand rather than relying on a number no source states.
