Two Louisville Bourbons, One Gift Box

Rabbit Hole, founded by Kaveh Zamanian in Louisville, built its reputation on unorthodox mash bills — and this pack is the distillery's two signatures side by side. Cavehill is the four-grain bourbon, named for Louisville's historic Cave Hill Cemetery, the final resting place of generations of proud Louisville distillers; its honey malted barley makes it unlike any other bourbon on the shelf. Heigold is the high-rye counterpoint, named for Christian Heigold, the German immigrant stonemason who settled in Louisville before 1850 and carved his patriotism into the facade of his home — the imported German rye in the mash is the tribute. One box, two philosophies of bourbon. Browse the Rabbit Hole collection, more bourbon whiskey, and the wider whisky shelves at Del Mesa.

Tasting Notes

Cavehill: honey, fresh apple and spice on the nose; creamy orange, honey and mint with toasted grain on the palate; a vanilla and custard finish. Heigold: sweet, warm baking spices and toasted malt on the nose; creamy butterscotch with bursts of citrus on the palate; and a finish of pepper and spice from the malted rye.

How to Enjoy

Taste them side by side, neat — the honeyed, creamy Cavehill against the spicier, citrus-bright Heigold is a bourbon education in two half-bottles. Both stand up on a big cube and in an Old Fashioned. As a gift, it is two full-size flavour profiles in a ready-to-give box.
