Blended Whiskey | 750mL | 48% ABV (96 proof) | No age statement | Limited edition — Puncher’s Chance The Unified Belt is exactly what the name promises: a whiskey that unifies three belts into one. Released December 2023 as the fifth expression in the portfolio, it blends three components from two countries — a 4-year-old high-rye Kentucky straight bourbon (70/20/10 corn-rye-malt, #4 alligator char, aged in Danville, KY), a 4-year-old Irish whiskey (100% malted barley, aged in ex-bourbon barrels in Ireland), and a 14-year-old bourbon (84/8/10) finished up to 15 months in first-fill Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks. Barrels were sourced by IJW Whiskey Company of Louisville and blended by Master Blender Steven Hughes for Wolf Spirit of Eugene, Oregon. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.

In boxing, the unified champion is the fighter who holds two or more major titles — and this bottle plays that role literally: two American bourbons and one Irish whiskey, unified into a single pour. The brand is tied to the fight world through its partnership with the Professional Fighters League and MMA legend Bruce Buffer. Among whiskeys, it’s one of the most ambitious cross-Atlantic blends on the shelf — a sherry-cask-finished, 96-proof bottle that drinks like a negotiation between bourbon richness and Irish smoothness.

Tasting notes

Official (Wolf Spirit): dark fruit, orchard fruit and cocoa, balanced with layers of warm oak and baking spice. Finish: long, with hints of vanilla and baked green apples. (Paste Magazine noted the Irish whiskey character comes through strongest, with a touch of residual sweetness.)

Why buy it from Del Mesa Liquor

  • 750mL, 96 proof — limited edition, fifth portfolio release
  • Three-whiskey blend from two countries: Kentucky bourbon + Irish whiskey
  • 14-year component finished up to 15 months in PX and Oloroso sherry casks
  • Blended by Master Blender Steven Hughes; barrels sourced by IJW Whiskey Company
  • Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor

How to serve it

Neat first — the sherry finish deserves a clean look — then with a few drops of water if you want the orchard-fruit and cocoa notes to step forward. A pour to argue over with a friend who swears bourbon and Irish whiskey should never meet.
