Let'er Buck — Canadian Whisky, Oregon Water
The whisky is named for the Pendleton Round-Up, the Oregon rodeo first held in 1910 — the bucking horse on the bottle and the "Let'er Buck" slogan both come from it. Pendleton Whisky itself is far younger: Hood River Distillers, founded in 1934 and holder of Oregon's first distiller's permit, launched it in 2003. The production split is the signature: the whisky is distilled and aged in Canada, then brought to Hood River and cut with glacier-fed spring water off Mount Hood, Oregon's highest peak, before bottling. How to Enjoy
The brand's featured serve is its "Original Cowboy" cocktail; the whisky also pours cleanly neat or on the rocks and sits comfortably in a highball or a classic whisky cocktail.
