Patron Anejo is a 750mL anejo tequila bottled at 40% ABV, handcrafted from 100% Weber Blue Agave at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, Mexico (NOM 1492) and aged for over 12 months in a combination of French oak, Hungarian oak and used American whiskey barrels. Warm amber in the glass, it is Patrón's barrel-aged sipping expression — oak, vanilla and raisin over cooked agave, finishing with caramel and a whisper of smoke. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Over a Year in Three Oaks

An anejo has to hold its agave through a year or more of oak, and Patrón spreads that year across three woods — French oak for spice, Hungarian oak for sweetness, used American whiskey barrels for vanilla depth. The spirit that goes in is the house's small-batch distillate, crushed by both tahona stone and roller mill at the Highlands hacienda the brand has called home since 2002 — the same dual process behind every Patrón expression since the founding in 1989. The result is the range's sipping anchor. Compare the expressions on the Patrón vendor page and across our tequila collection.

Tasting Notes

Patrón's maker notes: warm amber colour; oak wood, vanilla and raisins on the aroma; oak, vanilla, raisin and honey on the palate; and a finish of caramel with smoky notes.

How to Enjoy

Neat or with one large cube, sipped slowly; the honey-and-caramel register also builds a fine Tequila Old Fashioned. More sipping tequilas are in our tequila collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is Patron Anejo aged?
Over 12 months, in a combination of French oak, Hungarian oak and used American whiskey barrels — Patrón's current maker-stated ageing for this expression.

What does NOM 1492 mean on Patron?
The NOM is the Mexican distillery registration on the label. Patrón's tequilas are produced at Hacienda Patrón in Jalisco, registered as NOM 1492 — the number certifies the bottle's single-distillery origin.

Is Patron Anejo a sipping tequila?
Yes — it is positioned as the house's barrel-aged sipping expression, with oak, vanilla, raisin and honey over a caramel, lightly smoky finish.
