Pariah Brewing was founded by Brian and Christa Mitchell in San Diego's North Park neighbourhood in February 2017, and Refill Material was its house answer to the San Diego lifestyle: an IPA designed from the start to be highly drinkable — "refill material" in the most literal sense. Citra hops headline every version of the beer, bringing the grapefruit, melon and tropical fruit the variety is famous for, over a soft mouthfeel that keeps the bitterness (36 IBU) in check. The brewery later brewed on both coasts, but this beer's roots — and its recipe — are pure North Park.
