The Blanco From an Eleventh-Generation House
Maestro Dobel was created by Juan Domingo Beckmann Legorreta — "Dobel" from Domingo Beckmann Legorreta — an eleventh-generation tequila maker of the family behind Jose Cuervo, and introduced in 2008. The house is famous for inventing categories, but the Silver is the foundation everything else stands on: one estate's volcanic-lowlands agave, double-distilled and bottled with no oak at all, so what reaches the glass is the estate itself — cooked agave with an unusually sweet, honeyed register for a blanco. Taste it against the aged expressions in our tequila range and the blanco tequila shelf, or browse the house on the Maestro Dobel vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Cooked agave with floral tones, dried fruit, olive and butter in independent pours. Palate: The brand's own notes run sweet-led for a blanco — caramel, honey and maple with nutty, vanilla character over the bright cooked-agave entry. Finish: Medium, with a light smoky note in the brand's tasting profile.
How to Enjoy
Neat at room temperature first — this is a blanco made to be tasted, not shot. It also builds a Margarita where the agave stays in charge of the drink.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Maestro Dobel Silver the same as Diamante? No. Diamante is Dobel's clear cristalino — a filtered blend of aged tequilas. Silver is a straight blanco: distilled and bottled without any oak ageing or colour-removal filtration.
What does "Silver" mean? It is the brand's name for its blanco expression — the unaged class of tequila, bottled after distillation.
Where does the agave come from? A single family-owned estate in the volcanic lowlands around Tequila, Jalisco — the same single-estate programme behind every Maestro Dobel expression.
