Licor 43 Liqueur
Licor 43 is a 31% ABV (62 proof), 750mL golden liqueur from Cartagena, Spain, made by the Zamora Company from a secret family recipe of 43 natural ingredients. Launched in 1946 by siblings Diego, Angel and Josefina Zamora with Emilio Restoy, it is produced only in Cartagena: botanicals and Mediterranean citrus are macerated, fused in exact proportion, rested six to nine months in stainless steel, cold-treated and micro-filtered to its characteristic golden shine. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Cartagena's Golden Secret, Kept Since 1946
The brand tells its origin as legend: an ancient golden elixir of Carthago Nova, the Liqvor Mirabilis, inspired the recipe the Zamora family brought to market in 1946. The verifiable story is nearly as good — one family, one city, one guarded recipe, with a single authorised expert overseeing the blend on the family's behalf. The flavour gives away only what the brand allows: Mediterranean citrus, coriander-led botanicals, ripe fruit and vanilla, and orange and lemon blossom over it all. Browse our liqueurs, explore the spirits shelf, or see the Licor 43 vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Lively Mediterranean citrus with orange and lemon blossom. Palate: Sweet and smooth in layers — citrus first, then coriander and warm botanicals, then mature fruit and vanilla. Finish: Golden and rounded, a light citrus-peel edge keeping the sweetness in balance.
How to Enjoy
Pour it with espresso as a Carajillo 43, the serve the producer champions — also neat, chilled, or over ice as a golden after-dinner pour.
