Legent Bourbon Whiskey
Legent Bourbon Whiskey is a 750mL Kentucky straight bourbon bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV), distilled by Jim Beam's Fred Noe in Clermont, Kentucky, partially finished in wine and sherry casks, and blended by Shinji Fukuyo, Suntory's fifth Chief Blender. Part of the bourbon is finished in California red wine casks and part in sherry casks, then blended back with straight Kentucky bourbon — a Kentucky whiskey built with a Japanese blender's hand, available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Two Whiskey Cultures in One Bottle
Legent, launched in 2019, was Beam Suntory's first new standalone bourbon brand in decades — and a genuine collaboration rather than a label exercise. Noe distilled the bourbon from the Beam family's historic recipe and limestone-filtered Kentucky water; Fukuyo then did what Suntory blenders do, finishing parcels in wine and sherry casks and marrying them back into the straight bourbon for balance. Tasting Notes
Per the brand: traditional bourbon wood notes on the nose with spice and mild fruit undertones from the cask finishes; dried raisins and dates on the palate with light acidity, sweetness and a hint of sherry-cask bitterness; a rich, warm, oaky, long finish.
How to Enjoy
Pour it neat to taste the blend's architecture, then try it in a Manhattan, where the sherry and wine-cask fruit deepens the dried-fruit notes. More finished bourbons are in our bourbon whiskey collection.
