Lapis Platinum Tequila is a 750mL unaged blanco bottled at 40% ABV, made from 100% Tequilana Weber agave at NOM 1146, the La Tequilena distillery in the town of Tequila, Jalisco. The agave is highland-grown in Los Altos, cooked in a low-pressure autoclave, fermented in stainless steel with natural spring water, and double distilled in a copper pot still under master distiller Enrique Fonseca — known as "El Arquitecto." The Blanco Behind the Lapis Name

Lapis is the house brand of La Tequilena, the distillery run by Enrique Fonseca, a fifth-generation agave grower whose family holdings in Los Altos are among the largest in the highlands. The aged Lapis expressions rest in oak; Platinum is where the distillery shows its hand with nothing to hide behind — no wood, no colour, no rest, just highland agave run twice through copper. Brand copy places the agave fields at around 5,200 feet, and that altitude shows in the spirit's ripe, tropical fruit character. Tasting Notes

The importer (Terranova Spirits) describes a crystalline, luminous blanco with aromas of ripe yellow fruit — apricot, mango and sweet cherry — over malt, spice and aromatic herbs; the palate is sweet and moderately agave-forward with a full, balanced body and a persistent finish.

How to Enjoy
