Barbados, the Heavyweight Chapter

Barbados is rum's birthplace island, and Sazerac's Origins series saves its richest pour for it: pot-still weight and column-still lift blended full and buttery, in a tall bottle whose label carries a West Indies cricket match. The bottling took a Silver Medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2022, per Sazerac's official release. Set it beside its Trinidad and Guyana siblings in our rum collection, browse the wider spirits range, or visit the Jung & Wulff Luxury Rums vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Palate: Full-bodied and buttery — dark chocolate, dried fruits and burnt sugar from the first sip. Character: Creamy and robust, more bittersweet than sweet, deeply cocoa-like and rich. Finish: Powerful yet elegant, true to Barbados character.

How to Enjoy

Neat or on the rocks, per the producer — the cocoa depth rewards a slow glass. It also builds a serious Mai Tai or a bittersweet Rum Old Fashioned.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Barbados distillery makes Jung & Wulff No. 3? Sazerac does not disclose the source distillery for the Origins bottlings — the rum is sold on its island origin and the blend, and no reputable source names the distillery.

Is Jung & Wulff No. 3 a 15-year-old rum? No. Launch literature describes blend components aged up to 15 years, but the bottle carries no age statement — the figure is the oldest rum in the blend.

How does No. 3 differ from No. 1 and No. 2? Origin and weight: Barbados pours full-bodied and buttery with dark chocolate and burnt sugar, where Trinidad is silky and spicy and Guyana runs roasted and faintly smoky — same 43% ABV, same pot-and-column method, three islands.

Buttery, cocoa-deep and unmistakably Bajan — order Jung & Wulff No. 3 Barbados Rum online from Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.
