The First Chapter of the Origins
L.E. Jung and Frederick Wulff were early New Orleans rum importers — past owners of the Sazerac House and Peychaud's Bitters — and Sazerac borrowed their name for a series that bottles the Caribbean one island at a time. Trinidad's chapter pairs pot-still depth with column-still lift, all tropically aged on the island, and took a Silver Medal at the International Spirits Challenge 2022 per Sazerac's release; F. Paul Pacult's Spirit Journal gave it five stars. Continue the series in our rum collection and the wider spirits shelves, or visit the Jung & Wulff Luxury Rums vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Palate: Medium-bodied and silky — the entry suggests moderate age and medium oak. Midpalate: Deeply spicy, with evolving highlights of fruit, spice, vegetation and earthiness. Finish: Seamless and long, the spice and earth notes resolving together.
How to Enjoy
Neat or on the rocks, per the producer — the silky texture carries it. It also stands up in a Rum Old Fashioned or a Queen's Park Swizzle, Trinidad's own classic serve.
