Patrón's Bordeaux-Barrel Masterpiece

"Burdeos" is Spanish for Bordeaux — and the name tells the whole story. Patrón takes its highland agave spirit through two distillations, rests it a full year in American and French oak, distills it a third time for purity, then finishes it in vintage Bordeaux wine barrels for a depth no standard añejo reaches. The official tasting notes read like a wine lover's diary: charred wood, amber honey, roasted pumpkin and coriander over vanilla and raisins. Each Patrón decanter is hand-polished, hand-numbered and sealed with the crystal bee stopper — this is the tequila equivalent of a first-growth bottle, made in very limited quantities.

Tasting Notes

Dark amber in the glass. Charred wood and amber honey lead, with roasted pumpkin, coriander, vanilla and raisins unfolding underneath; retailers note ripe berry, chocolate and coffee from the Bordeaux finish. The palate is velvety and complex, the finish exceptionally long.

How to Enjoy

Neat, at room temperature, in a proper tasting glass — this is a contemplative pour that rewards patience. Not for mixing; a bottle at this level is for marking occasions.
