East London's First Distillery in a Century
When Alex Wolpert fired up the stills at Bow Wharf in July 2014, East London had its first gin, vodka and whisky distillery in more than 100 years — set up in a former glue factory with a simple brief: top-quality liquid at a fair price, made for bartenders and home drinkers alike. The flagship gin is the purest expression of that idea: bright citrus and classic juniper up front, unfolding into a deeper, spicier finish from the cardamom and cubeb. Find it on our gin shelf, see the distillery's range on the East London Liquor Company vendor page, or step up to the premium bottling, East London Batch No. 1 Premium Gin.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Cardamom prominent over bright lemon and grapefruit citrus. Palate: Classic juniper and citrus first, then coriander spice with cubeb and cardamom anchoring the middle. Finish: Bold and spicy.
How to Enjoy
Built for a gin and tonic with a grapefruit twist, and characterful enough for a martini or a negroni. The citrus-spice balance also makes it a strong house gin for gimlets and gin sours.
Frequently Asked Questions

What is the house style? Bright citrus and juniper first, then a deeper spice finish — a bartender-friendly London Dry at a fair price, per the distillery's founding brief.
