A Cotton Mill on the River Teith
Deanston began in 1785 as a cotton mill designed by Richard Arkwright, powered by the River Teith near Doune. The mill closed in 1965 and the site was converted to a distillery, opening in 1966 — the Teith still supplies both its water and, through an on-site hydro-electric facility, its power, making Deanston self-sufficient in electricity. Tasting Notes
