A Cooperative Named for Leonardo
Cantine Leonardo da Vinci was founded in 1961, when around thirty local growers formed a cooperative as Tuscany's old sharecropping system dissolved; it has grown to roughly two hundred growers farming across Chianti. The standard Chianti is gently crushed and fermented in stainless steel at controlled temperatures to dry, and the finished wine is deep crimson, well balanced and unmistakably Sangiovese in character. Tasting Notes
Nose and palate: Jammy ripe plum, cherry and red-fruit flavours on a lively palate, with a soft mineral character. Finish: Round tannins lingering into a long, peppery close.
How to Enjoy
Serve slightly below room temperature (the producer suggests about 64 °F) with starters and antipasti, pasta in tomato or meat sauces, lasagna, chicken parmigiana or grilled meats — bright acidity makes this a natural food wine.
