Craigellachie 33 Year Old Scotch Whisky
Craigellachie 33 Year Old is a 750mL single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 46% ABV, distilled in 1983 at Craigellachie Distillery in Speyside, Scotland, and released as a small-batch limited edition of just 1,700 bottles in Dewar's Exceptional Cask Series. Bottled with natural colour and without chill filtration, it is the oldest expression the distillery had released — three decades of slow maturation on the heavy, muscular, worm-tub spirit that makes Craigellachie unlike any other Speyside malt. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Thirty-Three Years of the Muscular Malt
Craigellachie, founded in 1891 where the Spey meets the Fiddich, is one of the last distilleries condensing through worm tubs — a traditional method that keeps the spirit heavy, meaty and faintly sulphury, in deliberate defiance of Speyside's light house style. Most of its make has always gone to Dewar's blends, which is why a distillery bottling at 33 years is an event: this Exceptional Cask Series release, hand-selected by Malt Master Stephanie Macleod, followed the 31 Year Old that won World's Best Single Malt at the World Whiskies Awards 2017. Bacardi did not disclose the cask type for the 33 — what the launch material promises instead is the flavour: that muscular spirit meeting a rare sherry finesse. Explore the distillery's other malts on the Craigellachie vendor page and in our Scotch whisky collection.
Tasting Notes
Per Stephanie Macleod's producer notes: explosive sulphury aromas, cereal complexity and exotic fruits, with a long, creamy finish — the muscular Speyside character carrying a rare sherry finesse.
How to Enjoy
Neat, in a tulip glass, given time — a whisky distilled in 1983 has earned a slow pour and no ice. More rare and aged Scotch is in our whisky collection.
