Corazon Single Estate Reposado Tequila is the oak-rested expression of Sazerac's estate range from Casa San Matias — 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL, 100% Blue Weber agave cultivated, distilled and hand-bottled at a single estate (NOM 1103) in Los Altos, Jalisco, double distilled in stainless steel pot stills, oxygen-infused, then rested six to eight months in oak until light amber. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Estate Blanco, Rested in Oak

Everything the Blanco (#14 in this batch) is — single-estate Blue Weber from Los Altos, brick ovens, open-air fermentation, stainless pot stills and Corazón's oxygen-infusion step at Casa San Matias, the family-owned distillery producing for Sazerac for more than a century — the Reposado then takes into oak for six to eight months. That rest is the whole difference, and it is calibrated rather than heavy: the spirit comes out light amber, the agave still leading, with vanilla and almond laid over the blanco's mineral spice. US label copy strings the sequence explicitly — second distillation, controlled oxygenation, then maturation in hand-selected oak. Find it on our reposado tequila shelf, set it against the blanco in tequila, or browse the estate on the Corazon vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh thyme, green grass and agave nectar (brand tasting sheet). Palate: Earthy, supported by soft vanilla, Marcona almond and fresh herbs. Finish: Round and refined.

How to Enjoy

Neat or over one cube — six to eight months of oak is a seasoning, not a mask, and the herbs and almond show best unhurried. It also makes a reposado Margarita with genuine barrel character.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is it aged? Six to eight months in oak barrels — verified across the brand's US label copy and tasting sheet. Brand-derived sources disagree on the oak's origin (American in US copy, Canadian in UK/Australia copy), so the copy here says oak, and the back label settles it.

Is this the Expresiones del Corazon Reposado? No. Expresiones is a separate, limited Sazerac series aged in named ex-whiskey barrels (the Buffalo Trace Reposado rests about ten and a half months). This is the core Single Estate Reposado — estate agave, oak-rested, bottled year in and year out.

What is the oxygen infusion? Corazón's signature step, applied before the barrel rest: oxygen is infused into the twice-distilled spirit, which the brand credits for a softer, more aromatic tequila.
