A Festival Edition of Codigo's Cabernet-Rested Reposado

For generations, a local Amatitan distilling family produced this tequila privately under the old codes and customs — "Los Codigos" — before Codigo 1530 brought it to market, bottled at origin at a single NOM distillery with no added chemicals, sweeteners, flavouring or colouring. This Stagecoach Limited Edition, released as the official tequila of the Stagecoach country music festival with a custom screen-printed design, carries the house reposado: the brightness of ripe agave given six months in French White Oak barrels that previously held Napa Valley Cabernet. Explore the Codigo 1530 collection, more tequila, and the wider spirits range at Del Mesa.

Tasting Notes

Oak and caramel on the nose with cooked agave, vanilla and dried fruit; the palate is smooth and well-rounded — bright, sweet agave and vanilla with toasted caramel, cinnamon and a subtle Cabernet influence from the wine barrels; a smooth, balanced finish of sweet oak and warm spice.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat or over a single large cube to let the wine-barrel vanilla and caramel show, or use it in a premium Margarita or a reposado Old Fashioned, where the Cabernet-cask warmth holds its own against citrus and bitters.
