Chateau Souverain Sauvignon Blanc
Chateau Souverain Sauvignon Blanc is a 750mL California white wine from a house founded in 1943 by J. Leland "Lee" Stewart, whose first harvest followed in 1944. Chateau Souverain — later based in Alexander Valley and, since 2006, at the Asti winery in Sonoma County, and owned by E. & J. Gallo since 2015 — positions this bottling as an approachable, food-versatile California Sauvignon Blanc, best served chilled. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A California Pioneer, Still Pouring
Few California labels run as long as Souverain: founded in 1943 on Howell Mountain, making wine in Alexander Valley from 1973, and at Asti since 2006. The Sauvignon Blanc is the house in its everyday register — citrus-led, tropical-edged and built to be poured cold next to food. Tasting Notes
From the producer's current copy: pink grapefruit, guava and lime zest on the nose, with ripe melon, orange blossom and honeysuckle; a dry, crisp palate with mouthwatering acidity and a richer-textured finish.
How to Enjoy
Serve well chilled, on its own or with salads, grilled seafood and goat cheese — the acidity is built for the table.
