Cazadores Anejo Tequila
Cazadores Anejo Tequila is a 750mL anejo bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in the Highlands of Jalisco and rested at least one year in new American oak barrels at Arandas. It is the aged, sipping end of a range built on a 1922 recipe — cinnamon, vanilla and smoked wood over cooked agave. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A 1922 Arandas Recipe, Aged
Don Jose Maria Banuelos perfected the Cazadores recipe in Arandas in 1922 and kept it in the family — passed by word of mouth until his grandson built the first commercial distillery in the 1970s. The name means "the hunters," and the stag on the label comes from a stag seen standing in the agave fields. The production is modern where it counts: agave juice is extracted by diffuser, fermented in two stages in stainless steel with a proprietary yeast — classical music plays during fermentation, a house quirk the producer stands by — and double distilled before the anejo goes into new American oak for a year or more. The brand sits in the Bacardi Limited portfolio today. See the rest of the range on the Cazadores vendor page and in our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the producer's official notes: a golden pour where the agave is exalted by cinnamon, vanilla and nuts, with smoked wood and a hint of pepper, and the house's customary smooth finish — an anejo built to be presented on its own.
How to Enjoy
Neat in a proper glass, or over one large cube — a year in new oak gives it the weight for an anejo Old Fashioned once you have had it straight. More aged tequila is in our tequila collection and the full range across our spirits collection.
