Casta Pasion Blue Worm Anejo Tequila is a 750mL anejo tequila bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), distilled from 100% blue agave in Guadalajara, Jalisco, and aged over a year in new white oak casks. It arrives in the bottle that made the brand famous: a hand-blown glass worm, this one in blue, with every bottle individually hand-numbered and signed. Order it online at Del Mesa Liquor in San Diego, CA.

The Worm Bottle, Taken Seriously

Casta Pasion is produced at Tequilera Newton e Hijos in Guadalajara under NOM 1173, and the worm is no mould-line souvenir: each bottle is hand-blown in Mexico by a team of about eight glassworkers in a process that takes roughly fifteen minutes, then hand-numbered and signed before filling. Inside is a proper anejo — 100% blue agave tequila rested over a year in new white oak, which lays a pronounced oak frame over the cooked-agave core. The blue glass marks this bottling within the worm range. Browse the brand on the Casta Pasion vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Cooked agave on the nose with spice and floral notes from the oak rest. The palate is rich and rounded — sweet spice, citrus fruit and ground black pepper over vanilla and toasted oak — and the finish is creamy and smooth, the agave sweetness carrying through the wood.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat or over a single large cube to let the oak and agave unwind; the bottle, of course, is the centrepiece of any shelf or gift table long after the last pour. More aged tequilas are in our tequila collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a real worm in Casta Pasion Blue Worm?
No — the "worm" is the bottle itself, hand-blown glass in a worm shape. Nothing is in the tequila but tequila.

How long is Casta Pasion Anejo aged?
Over one year in new white oak casks — past the one-year minimum the anejo class requires, in fresh barrels that give it a stronger oak character than most.

Where is Casta Pasion made?
At Tequilera Newton e Hijos (NOM 1173) in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% blue agave.
