The House Blanco from the Hill of Light
Cascahuin has been a family distillery in El Arenal — the gateway town to the agave landscape — since 1904, and this is its everyday blanco: the reference pour the Tahona and the 48 are measured against. The make is traditional where it counts and modern where it helps: brick-oven cooking for the cooked-agave depth, a roller mill and stainless fermentation for a clean, bright distillate, and the mineral touch El Arenal's deep well water gives the house style. The name itself — "Cerro de Luz," Hill of Light, from its prehispanic roots — is on every bottle the family makes. Start the range here in our tequila collection, or meet the whole family on the Cascahuin vendor page.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Warm cooked agave, citrus and cracked black pepper. Palate: Cooked agave and cut grass with orange zest, black pepper and wet earth — medium-bodied, slightly oily. Finish: Lasting, mineral and clean.
How to Enjoy
The working blanco: Margaritas, Palomas and Ranch Water where the cooked agave still reads through, and honest enough to sip neat beside its Tahona sibling for the comparison.
