Casamigos Tequila Anejo is a 750mL anejo bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco, Mexico, and aged for twelve months in American white oak barrels — a full year of oak that takes the house style into deep caramel and vanilla. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 40% (80 proof)
  • Size: 750mL
  • Agave: 100% Blue Weber
  • Aging: 12 months in American white oak barrels
  • Production: Slow-roasted agave and extra-slow fermentation (the brand's stated process — see Reposado)
  • Origin: Jalisco, Mexico
  • Brand: Casamigos — "House of Friends," founded 2013; owned by Diageo since 2017

Twelve Months: The Deep End of the House Range

The Anejo is the longest-aged of the three Casamigos tequilas — a minimum of twelve months in American white oak, per the current official specification — and it drinks like it: the agave sweetness is still there, but it arrives wrapped in caramel, vanilla, and barrel spice rather than citrus. It is the expression the brand's whiskey-drinking audience tends to land on. Explore the house on the Casamigos vendor page, or browse our tequila collection.

Tasting Notes

Per the brand: deep caramel and vanilla, balancing Blue Weber agave sweetness with subtle spice and barrel oak; a pure, complex aroma and a lingering, smooth finish.

How to Enjoy

Neat, in a wide glass, with time — treat it like a light bourbon pour. It also makes a rich, oak-forward Old Fashioned riff with agave syrup. More anejos are in our tequila collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is Casamigos Anejo aged?
Twelve months in American white oak barrels, per the current official Casamigos and Diageo specifications (a minimum of 12 months).

What proof is Casamigos Anejo?
80 proof (40% ABV) in the 750mL bottling.

How is the Anejo different from the Reposado?
Time in oak: the Reposado rests six months, the Anejo twelve — the Anejo pours deeper, with more caramel, vanilla, and spice over the agave.

Great Tequila

Could not find Casamigos Anejo in any Spirit store in my area and was very happy to be able to order from here. Arrived sooner than expected. Very satisfied with the service of Del Mesa Liquor.

I'm coming back!

What a positive first experience with DML&D! I placed an order online for 6 bottles of wine that I can't find anywhere else (the winery doesn't even sell it anymore) and figured if I was going to drive down to San Diego from north county, I might as well add some tequila too ; ) When I parked, two people were delivering bags and boxes of alcohol to cars, both people greeted me. Inside I was also greeted by the person behind the counter - they couldn't locate the box my order was in, so we discussed the order number, the contents and the confirmation email that the order was ready. The box was located - everything looked great! Someone brought the heavy box to my car and I was happily on my way - what a pleasant transaction! Thank you, DML&D. This was my first experience, but it will not be my last! Be well during this time of crazy Covid-19!
