Casa Pecados Silver 53° Tequila is the high-proof blanco from Amatitan, Jalisco — 53% ABV (106 proof), 750mL, NOM 1473, the house's unaged Weber Azul spirit bottled at full strength: stone-oven cooked, wood-fermented with the fibres and double-distilled in copper pots, with no barrel time at all. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 53% (106 proof)
  • Size: 750mL

  • Agave: 100% Tequilana Weber (Weber Azul), Amatitan, Los Valles, Jalisco
  • Production: Stone-oven cooked, wood fermentation with fibres, spring water, 2x copper pot distilled
  • Aging: None — unaged high-proof blanco ("Silver 53°" = "Blanco 53")
  • Origin: Amatitan, Jalisco, Mexico (Casa Pecados)

The Blanco at Full Strength

Most blancos are proofed down to 40% before bottling. The Silver 53° keeps thirteen extra points of alcohol, and everything the Amatitan production puts into the spirit — the stone-oven cook, the fibre-in wood fermentation, the copper pots — arrives louder: more peppermint and spice up front, more weight on the palate, a longer, warmer finish. It is the same NOM 1473 blanco class as the house's standard Silver, bottled the way it comes off the still. Find it with the rest of our tequila range, or line up all three siblings on the Casa Pecados vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Sight: Silver and crystalline. Nose: Peppermint and anise, then white pepper, cinnamon and clove, with green apple and mild citrus after air (importer notes). Palate: Peppermint and white chocolate, mildly herbaceous, closing with a spicy-sweet long finish.

How to Enjoy

Sip it neat in small pours — at 106 proof it drinks like a still-strength spirit — or use a half-measure wherever a blanco goes into a cocktail and you want the agave to push through citrus and ice.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the "53°" mean? 53% alcohol by volume — 106 proof. It is a strength designation, not an age or barrel mark.

Is the Silver 53° a reposado? No. Despite some listings, it is an unaged blanco: Tequila Matchmaker and the brand's US importer both classify it as Blanco, with no barrel aging. The rested Casa Pecados is the separate Reposado.

How does it differ from the regular Casa Pecados Blanco? Proof and profile: 53% vs 40%, and a mintier, spicier published note set (peppermint, anise, white chocolate, green apple) against the standard blanco's vanilla and toasted almond.
