Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey
Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey is a 750mL blended Irish whiskey bottled at 40% ABV, combining an exceptionally high proportion of Bushmills single malt whiskey — matured in former Oloroso sherry and bourbon casks — with a lighter grain whiskey, all from the Old Bushmills Distillery in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It is the sherry-led, dark-fruited pour that has made Black Bush a bartender's favourite for decades. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Sherry-Led Blend with a Malt Accent
Most blends let grain whiskey do the talking; Black Bush inverts the recipe. The distillery builds it around an exceptionally high amount of its own single malt — the malt matured in former Oloroso sherry casks in particular — and marries it with a lighter, sweeter grain whiskey, batch-distilled for smoothness. The result drinks closer to a malt than a blend: rich, fruity and deep, with the sherry character up front. It is triple-distilled County Antrim whiskey through and through, from the site that handles everything from distilling to bottling on water from Saint Columb's Rill. The malts it borrows from are on the Bushmills vendor page, and more blends are in our whisky collection.
Tasting Notes
Russet-gold. The brand's US notes describe an intensely sherry-sweet aroma; a soft, silky palate with a nutty character; and a lingering sweet finish — rich and full-bodied, layering deep sherry sweetness with dried fruit and toasted nuts.
How to Enjoy
Neat or over a single large cube, where the sherry fruit stays in charge; it also builds a serious Irish Old Fashioned or Black Manhattan. Stock the rest of the serve from our spirits collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Bushmills Black Bush a single malt?
No — it is a blended Irish whiskey. What sets it apart is the recipe: an exceptionally high proportion of Bushmills single malt whiskey (much of it sherry-cask matured) married with a lighter grain whiskey.
How old is Bushmills Black Bush?
It carries no age statement. Retailer claims about the age of its malt component conflict with each other and are not confirmed by the distillery, so no age is stated here.
What does Black Bush taste like?
