Balcones Baby Blue Texas Corn Whisky
Balcones Baby Blue Texas Corn Whisky is a 750mL corn whisky bottled at 46% ABV (92 proof), made from 100% roasted blue corn and matured in premium used oak casks at Balcones Distilling in Waco, Texas — never chill-filtered and with no added colouring. Baby Blue was the first Texas whisky on the market since Prohibition, and it is intentionally youthful: the rich, oily blue corn keeps the freshness of classic American corn whisky with a rounder, more refined complexity. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The First Texas Whisky Since Prohibition
Balcones launched Baby Blue from its original Waco welding-shop distillery as the first Texas whisky to reach the market since Prohibition — a deliberate statement that Texas could make whisky its own way. Blue corn is the signature: roasted before distilling, it gives an oily, viscous spirit with a round nuttiness no yellow-corn whisky quite matches, and the used-oak maturation keeps the corn itself in front. Tasting Notes
Per the distillery: melted butter, kettle corn, vanilla, toffee, cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose; tropical fruit, brown sugar, cotton candy and sweet tea on a viscous palate; a medium-long, warming finish of cinnamon, leather spice and mint.
How to Enjoy
Over ice, where the corn sweetness rounds out, or in a whiskey highball. More Texas originals are in our whisky collection.
