Avion Reposado Tequila
Avion Reposado Tequila is a 750mL reposado bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from single-origin blue Weber agave grown at high elevation — the brand cites around 7,000 feet — around Jesus Maria in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. The agave is slow-roasted in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours, distilled in small batches, and the tequila then rests for six months in used American whiskey barrels — three times the two-month reposado minimum — before the brand's proprietary ultra slow filtration. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Six Months in American Whiskey Barrels
Avion was founded in 2009/2010 on a single-origin highland idea and is now wholly owned by Pernod Ricard (full ownership 2018). The Reposado is the house style rested: the official brand wording gives it six months in used American whiskey barrels, softening the roasted-agave core with vanilla, caramel, coconut and maple from the wood while the spirit stays recognisably highland — floral, fruity, gently spiced. Explore the house on the Avion vendor page, or browse our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the brand's current notes: roasted agave and aged oak balanced against vanilla, caramel, coconut and maple. The brand's sell-sheet set adds a light amber colour, floral notes with cherry, pear and peach, and an elegant oak finish of caramel and vanilla.
How to Enjoy
A reposado to sip before you mix it — neat or over one large cube — and it brings whiskey-barrel roundness to a reposado Margarita. More reposados are in our tequila collection.
