Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Blanc de Noirs is a 12.5% ABV, 750mL prestige Champagne made from 100% Pinot Noir grown in Premier and Grand Cru villages of the Montagne de Reims, France. Released only as numbered, limited-edition assemblages — each a trio of three vintages, individually inscribed with its disgorgement date — it is the rarest expression in the Ace of Spades range, in the house's metal-coated bottle inside a lacquered wooden gift box. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Rarest Ace: Pure Pinot Noir From the Montagne

Armand de Brignac is produced by the Cattier family of Chigny-les-Roses, growers in the Montagne de Reims for more than 250 years, whose prestige range launched in 2006 under the Ace of Spades name. The Blanc de Noirs is its most restricted cuvée: nothing but Pinot Noir from the Montagne's great villages, blended across three harvests and released in small numbered runs — a few thousand bottles per assemblage, each bottle metal-coated, fitted with hand-applied French pewter labels, polished by hand (about twenty bottles an hour per finisher, so no two are identical) and boxed in lacquered wood. If your bottle's assemblage number matters to you, it is inscribed on the bottle itself. Browse the range in our champagne and wine collections, or on the Armand de Brignac vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Character: A powerful, vinous style of Champagne true to its 100% Pinot Noir build — red-berry and stone-fruit depth, orange blossom and brioche from the oak-aged dosage, and the flinty minerality of the Montagne de Reims, finishing long and fresh. (Edition-specific notes vary by assemblage.)

How to Enjoy

Well chilled in a white-wine or tulip glass rather than a narrow flute — a vinous blanc de noirs rewards air. Pair with seared scallops, duck, or mushroom dishes that can meet its weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Blanc de Noirs Champagne? A white Champagne pressed from black grapes only — here, 100% Pinot Noir — giving a fuller, more vinous style with red-fruit depth.

What is an "assemblage" on Armand de Brignac Blanc de Noirs? Each release is a numbered assemblage (A1, A2, A3…) — a specific trio of vintages produced in a limited, numbered run and inscribed with its disgorgement date on the bottle. This listing does not specify an assemblage number.

Who makes Armand de Brignac? The Cattier family of the Montagne de Reims produces the wine; the brand is a partnership between Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter and Moët Hennessy (LVMH) since 2021.
