It is made in Amatitan, in the Jalisco lowlands near the Tequila Volcano, from 100% organic Blue Weber agave grown 5.5 to 7 years, cooked in brick hornos, roller-milled, open-air fermented and double distilled in copper pot stills. Brand-era copy nicknamed the Blanco "The Virgin Spirit," and the idea holds: at 4 Copas — founded in 1997 by Hector Galindo Miranda with founding master distiller Sebastian Melendrez, and certified organic that same year as a world first — the Blanco is the purest statement of the estate's organic agave, its fields tested for peak sugar before a hand harvest. Production today sits at Hacienda de Oro in Amatitan under master distiller Iliana Partida, in volcanic soils rich in silica, potassium, iron and copper. Tasting Notes
Per the brand: crystalline silver with light grey hues and a heavy body; the nose is sweet and balanced — butter, intense cooked agave and mint, delicate vanilla and white chocolate, with black pepper, citrus (grapefruit, lemon) and fresh fruit (pear, peach); the palate is sweet and silky, full-bodied cooked agave, vanilla and white chocolate, closing on a sweet finish.
