1921 Tequila Anejo is a 750mL tequila bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof), made from 100% Blue Weber agave grown on the brand's estate in the red soils of the Highlands of Jalisco and aged 14 months in toasted white oak barrels. Made in limited quantities and double distilled in stainless steel pot stills with copper coils after a 72-hour slow-cook cycle, each bottle is wax-sealed by hand and finished with a hand-painted clay medallion — an elegant anejo built to be sipped slowly. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

A Name From the Revolution, Aged in Arandas

Casa 1921 was born in 1996, created by a group of tequila aficionados to make 100% agave ultra-premium tequila — and its name marks 1921, the concluding year of the Mexican Revolution. The brand tells of a hidden cellar found during the renovation of Hacienda La Colorada, holding bottles of exceptional tequila hidden for some six decades behind a near-illegible clay label; the name, the bottle design and the hand-painted clay medallion on every bottle commemorate that find. What is in the bottle is Highlands tequila: estate Blue Weber from red soils, a 72-hour slow cook (24 hours cooking, 24 resting, 24 cooling), double distillation and filtration, then fourteen months in toasted white oak. Tasting Notes

Per the brand: bright amber-yellow from the white-oak ageing, with slow tears; the nose is smooth and balanced — honey sweetness, fruit and chocolate complementing the wood; the palate is complex, rich and elegantly smooth and sweet, with dried fruit and wood and a lingering aftertaste, and the finish is exceptionally smooth. The brand's 2026 line adds dried fruit, oak and caramel over natural agave sweetness.

How to Enjoy

Sip it slowly and neat — the brand suggests a Riedel tequila glass — to let the oak-aged flavour open; it also stands in for whiskey in a spirit-forward Anejo Old Fashioned. More anejos are in our spirits collection.
