Lacuesta Sweet White Blanco Vermouth is the sweet white of Haro's vermouth house — 15% ABV, 750mL, a white wine aromatised with the family's secret botanical extract, the Conzia, cold-macerated until the wine carries chamomile, mint and lilac florals over warm vanilla sweetness, at 104.5 g/l of sugar. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

  • ABV: 15%
  • Size: 750mL

  • Sweetness: 104.5 g/l sugar (producer tech sheet) — the sweet counterpart to the house's Extra Dry at 28.8 g/l
  • Method: Secret Conzia botanical extract, cold-macerated in white wine
  • Origin: Haro, La Rioja, Spain (Bodegas Martinez Lacuesta, founded 1895; vermouth since 1937)

Rioja's Vermouth, Guarded Since 1937

Martinez Lacuesta has made wine in Haro since 1895, and in 1937 the family pioneered vermouth production in La Rioja — the house still claims Lacuesta is the only vermouth that originates in Haro. The heart of it is the Conzia, the cellar's own name for its secret botanical formula, guarded generation to generation and cold-macerated into white wine. The Blanco is the sweet expression of that formula, a deliberate counterpart to the house's much drier Extra Dry. Find its siblings in our liqueurs collection, or browse the house on the Lacuesta vendor page.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Rich golden, with a silky feel (producer tech sheet). Nose: Soft florals — chamomile, mint and lilac — with warm vanilla sweetness. Palate: Smooth and rounded, with citrus, cinnamon and ginger. Finish: The bitter aromatic character of artemisia — wormwood — carrying through the sweetness.

How to Enjoy

The producer's serve is simple and specific: well chilled, with a lemon slice and an olive. The same tech sheet points the Blanco toward floral aromatised-wine cocktails — its own examples are a Corpse Reviver #2 and a Vesper.
