KAH 'Huichol' Extra Anejo Tequila is an 80-proof (40% ABV), 750mL extra añejo — 100% Blue Weber agave, aged well beyond the three-year extra-añejo minimum in American white oak (NOM 1472) — presented in the brand's most famous package: the iconic ceramic skull bottle hand-decorated in the beadwork tradition of the Huichol people of Jalisco's Sierra Madre Occidental. Each of the 600 individually numbered US bottles carries 22,000 hand-placed beads — about 35 hours of handwork per bottle — in designs built from Huichol symbols: the sun for power, the bird for freedom, the lizard foretelling the future, the mezcal bloom as the plant of life, the deer as life's guide. A Bottle That Is Also the Art

KAH's skull bottles were already shelf landmarks; the Huichol edition turns the bottle into the artwork. Released in a numbered run of just 600 for the USA, each one is beaded by hand in patterns drawn from Huichol cultural tradition — and it takes some 35 hours to finish a single bottle. Amber Beverage Group's brand team put it simply: packaging a fine, hand-crafted extra añejo inside what is effectively a series of artworks seemed fitting. Inside the beads, the tequila is built for sipping — cooked agave, vanilla, and sweet spice — from KAH Tequila's super-premium extra añejo program. Tasting Notes

Pale gold in the glass. Roasted agave laced with vanilla, light citrus, and grapefruit on the nose. The palate is clean and layered — pecan, red apple, and honeysuckle opening into dried fig, ripe red fruit, and candied date — with vanilla, stewed agave, and cinnamon throughout. The finish is balanced and lightly smoky with a tinge of dry sherry.

How to Enjoy

Serve neat in a tequila glass to catch the citrus and sherry-tinged finish; it's far too considered for mixing. Display it where the beadwork catches the light — it's a collector's piece as much as a pour. Pair with aged Manchego or dark chocolate.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many KAH Huichol bottles were made?
Just 600 individually numbered bottles for the USA release — each one hand-beaded, no two exactly alike.

How old is the tequila inside?
It's an extra añejo, meaning a minimum of three years in American oak. Published age claims vary (some retailers cite a decade), so the bottle's own label is the final word.

What do the beadwork symbols mean?
The designs draw on Huichol tradition: the sun (power), the bird (freedom, messenger of the gods), the lizard (foreteller of the future), the mezcal bloom (the plant of life), and the deer (a guide for humans).
