GlenAllachie 15 Year Old – Sherry-Rich Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky

A landmark expression in GlenAllachie's celebrated core range, the 15 Year Old represents the distillery's sherry cask philosophy at its most refined and expressive. Bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration, this Speyside single malt has spent 15 years developing extraordinary depth and complexity under the watchful eye of Master Blender Billy Walker — drawing on a rich selection of Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, and virgin oak casks to create a whisky of remarkable balance and character.

Rich, layered, and deeply satisfying — the GlenAllachie 15 is a whisky that rewards every sip.

Tasting Notes

  • Nose: Dark cherry, plum, rich sherry, dark chocolate, and warm cinnamon
  • Palate: Full and luscious with concentrated fruit, toffee, espresso, and gentle oak spice
  • Finish: Long, warming, and deeply complex with lingering dried fruit, chocolate, and spice

Pairing Suggestions

GlenAllachie 15 pairs magnificently with dark chocolate fondant, Christmas pudding, and aged Stilton. Its rich sherry and fruit character also complements venison, smoked duck, and walnut cake. Best enjoyed neat or with a single drop of water to fully appreciate its 15 years of complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What casks are used in GlenAllachie 15?

The 15 Year Old is matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, Oloroso sherry casks, and virgin oak barrels — Billy Walker's signature cask selection that defines the GlenAllachie house style.

Why is it bottled at 46% ABV?

Bottling at 46% ABV without chill filtration preserves the whisky's full natural texture, color, and flavor compounds that would otherwise be stripped out during the filtration process.

How does the 15 compare to the 12 Year Old?

The 15 Year Old offers greater depth, concentration, and complexity from the additional three years of maturation, with a richer, more intense sherry character and a longer, more complex finish.

Is GlenAllachie 15 a good gift?

Absolutely — its award-winning pedigree, 15 years of aging, and exceptional quality make it a distinguished and impressive gift for any Scotch whisky enthusiast.

Where can I buy GlenAllachie 15 Year Old?

You can purchase it online through Del Mesa Liquor with nationwide shipping available.

Another Pedro Ximénez winner

I located another GlenAllachie – the 15-year. Oh my, this is nice. Lots of fresh berries – raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, along with nuts and spices. This is very different from the 10-year. Both are very nice. This one is more of a cozy winter-time scotch – huddle by the fire and sip – another Pedro Ximénez winner. The finish is long and lingering with hints of butterscotch and salt. I recommend it. Drink slow, drink long, drink a variety, drink often.
