Foursquare Rum Distillery Convocation
Foursquare Rum Distillery Convocation (Mark XXVIII) is a 124-proof (62% ABV), 750mL limited release from Barbados — a blend of two fully matured 14-year-old molasses rums, one aged in ex-bourbon casks and the other in ex-Madeira casks, selected by Master Distiller Richard Seale. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
Convocation is the 28th mark in Foursquare's Exceptional Cask Series lineage of distillery-selected releases. Both components are pot-and-column molasses rums distilled and aged entirely at Foursquare in St. Philip, Barbados — no added color, no added sugar, no added flavor, and no filtration. The ex-Madeira component brings dried-fruit and nutty depth against the ex-bourbon component's vanilla-oak backbone, bottled at a bold 62% ABV that stands up to water or a single cube.
Tasting profile: deep dried fruit, vanilla, toasted oak, and baking spice; a dense, oily palate with long Madeira-cask nuttiness on the finish. Browse the Foursquare brand collection, more rum, and other international spirits.
Serving note: add a few drops of water to open the 62% ABV — or pour over one large cube for a slow, evolving dram.
