Distilled at La Alteña Distillery (NOM 1139) in Arandas, Los Altos de Jalisco, by Master Distiller Carlos Camarena — the same tahona-crushed, copper-pot-distilled El Tesoro, given a Scottish finish. Released in select markets in mid-November 2021 as single-barrel bottlings (tasting notes vary barrel to barrel), at an SRP of $125. The Mundial Collection is a continuing series, not a one-off.
Official tasting notes — aroma: citrus, pineapple, berries, oak, cooked agave, leather, peat; taste: roasted pepper, agave, maple, caramelized pineapple, barbecue, bacon, sea salt. A slight whiff of smoke — not heavy peat; the peat complements the agave rather than overwhelming it.
