The Estate Blanco
Most tequila brands buy agave or buy distillate. El Mexicano grows its own, cooks it low and slow, ferments it for one of the longest stretches in modern tequila production, and distills it on equipment built for the Bañuelos family — no copper, just stainless. The result is what K&L called "vibrant, clean, and full of character": cooked agave, white pepper, and citrus blossom with nothing added and nothing hidden. Tasting Notes
Bright citrus fruits — grapefruit, lime, lemon — with zest, grassy and vegetal notes, robust minerality, white pepper, florality, cooked agave, and baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves). The palate is fruity, peppery, herbal, and mineral-forward with an anise hint to balance the sweetness and a medium, creamy-to-oily mouthfeel; the finish is long, clean, fresh, and vegetal with a touch of minerality.
How to Enjoy
Neat to taste the estate character, or as the blanco in a proper margarita — this is a mixer's blanco with a distiller's pedigree.
