Dos Armadillos Reposado Tequila
Dos Armadillos Reposado Tequila is a 750mL reposado bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof) — 100% Blue Weber agave from Amatitan, Jalisco, matured at least eight years before harvest, then rested six months in oak and bottled in the range's handcrafted green-tinted crystal bottle with its artisanal medallion and braided rope neck. Six months is the reposado sweet spot: enough barrel for caramel and vanilla, not enough to bury the agave. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Six Months Between Blanco and Anejo
The Dos Armadillos range is built on patience before the barrel ever gets involved: agave from Amatitan, in the Tequila Valley, left to mature at least eight years for optimum sugar. The Reposado takes that bright valley spirit and rests it six months in oak — inside the legal reposado band of two months to under a year — so the barrel adds a whisper of caramel and vanilla while the cooked agave and fresh fruit stay up front. It comes in the same artisan presentation as the rest of the core range, and the brand reports a Bronze for it at the 2012 Spirits of Mexico competition. Compare it with the unaged Plata and the 18-month Anejo on the Dos Armadillos vendor page and in our tequila collection.
Tasting Notes
Per the brand's own notes: pale straw with gold highlights; a fresh aroma of fruit and cooked agave with pineapple, pear and banana prominent, plus delicate vanilla and caramel from the barrel rest; a silky, well-balanced palate, fresh and clean with a hint of oak; and a warm finish of roasted hazelnut and cinnamon.
How to Enjoy
Neat or on a large cube for sipping, and a natural upgrade in a Margarita or Paloma where the oak adds a second layer. More reposados wait in our tequila collection and the wider range in our spirits collection.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long is Dos Armadillos Reposado aged?
Six months in oak — mid-band for a reposado, which by law rests between two months and one year. The eight-year figure in the brand's story refers to the agave's maturation before harvest.
Is Dos Armadillos a highlands tequila?
No — its agave comes from Amatitan in the Tequila Valley (the lowlands) of Jalisco. Some retailer boilerplate says "highlands"; the brand's own sourcing paragraph says Amatitan.
What is the difference between the Reposado and the Anejo?
Time in oak: six months for this Reposado against 18 months for the Anejo, which pours deeper, darker and more dried-fruit-led. The Plata is the same spirit unaged.
