Cava de Oro Añejo Cristalino is an 80-proof (40% ABV), 750mL tequila that starts life as a full añejo — rested 18 to 24 months in French white oak — then is charcoal-filtered crystal clear. The Partida family, three generations of distillers, produces it at their small family operation in El Arenal, Jalisco (NOM 1477). It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Añejo Character, Cristalino Clarity

Cristalinos are tequila's elegant paradox: all the depth of long oak aging, none of the color. Cava de Oro rests its añejo for 18 to 24 months in French white oak — longer than many reposados see wood at all — then filters it to brilliant clarity. What remains is the oak's flavor without its tint: cinnamon, caramel, and vanilla over a soft, creamy agave core. Note that this is the Añejo Cristalino; Cava de Oro also makes a separate Extra Añejo Cristalino aged five years — a different bottle. Drinkers who love anejo tequila but want a lighter, silkier pour will find this hits the mark.

Tasting Notes

Cinnamon, caramel, and vanilla on the nose; a soft entry with toasted oak, roasted agave, cinnamon, and vanilla on the palate — smooth and creamy; a long, lingering warm finish of cinnamon and vanilla.

How to Enjoy

Serve lightly chilled or neat in a copita — the filtration makes it exceptionally smooth, so it needs no ice. It also elevates a cristalino margarita: the oak depth survives the citrus. Browse more cristalino tequila styles for comparison.
