Compass Box Nectarosity Blended Scotch Whisky
Compass Box Nectarosity Blended Scotch Whisky is "whisky meets patisserie": a 46% ABV (92 proof), 750mL Blended Scotch Whisky, natural colour, not chill-filtered, from Compass Box's retooled Core Collection — and it is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.
Nectarosity launched in September 2024 as one of four whiskies in Compass Box's new Core Collection (with Orchard House, The Peat Monster, and Crimson Casks), each "a destination on your map of flavour." The name merges "nectar" with an invented word for the irresistible urge to share — born in the brand's pâtissier-inspired "Test Kitchen," where lead whiskymaker James Saxon deployed the brand's own custom virgin American oak casks twice: first to sweeten grain spirit, then — once "prepared" — to age malt whisky. The final blend combines Highland malts and Lowland grain whiskies from 11 different distilleries, aged in first-fill bourbon and custom virgin American oak (with Palo Cortado sherry casks in the mix — official recipe notes Linkwood, Clynelish, and Cameronbridge grain among the components). Compass Box was founded in 2000 to challenge what blended Scotch can be; Nectarosity takes its reverence for American oak further than ever.
Tasting notes (official): "Generous Nectar from our own 'Test Kitchen'. Zesty with honey, poached pears, nectarine and lychee, then juicy apricot and pineapple excite the palate. Toffee, vanilla and butterscotch sauce follow, with a lasting flavour of cinnamon bun." Compass Box's own serving idea: "bring an irresistible dynamism everywhere it goes, from classic cocktails to boilermakers — partner with a dry pilsner to create a soft centre of fruity caramel notes."
Why buy Nectarosity? Because it is Compass Box's most oak-forward, patisserie-inspired blend — full recipe transparency, 46%, natural colour, non-chill-filtered — a genuinely different kind of Scotch. Browse the Compass Box brand collection, more Scotch whisky, and other international spirits.
Serving note: try the official boilermaker — a pour of Nectarosity beside a dry pilsner — or neat to catch the honey and poached pear.

When was it released? September 2024, as part of the new four-whisky Core Collection (replacing the older core range).
Is it a single malt? No — a Blended Scotch Whisky of Highland malts and Lowland grain whiskies from 11 distilleries; no age statement.
