Louis XIII Cognac 50mL — The Miniature — is the 50mL (5cl) format of Louis XIII: the same Grande Champagne blend that fills the house's larger decanters, presented in a miniature crystal decanter with the fleur-de-lys stopper, nested in the signature red coffret. The blend is built from up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, the youngest at least 40 years old, aged in Limousin oak tiercons and passed from one Remy Martin Cellar Master to the next. It is bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof). Order it online at Del Mesa Liquor.

The Icon, at Miniature Scale

Louis XIII is the Remy Martin house's defining creation: a blend drawn only from Grande Champagne, the premier cru of the Cognac region, assembled from up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie — some older than the blenders who marry them, the youngest at least forty years in Limousin oak. The Miniature is the collection's small format, made to the same standard as the Classic decanter it mirrors: crystal, a fleur-de-lys stopper, its own number, and the red coffret. It is the Louis XIII experience at 50mL — an introduction, a gift, or the one miniature that belongs in a serious collection. Browse the house on the Louis XIII vendor page, and see the wider shelf in our cognac collection.

Tasting Notes

The brand describes the blend's aromatic palette in terms of myrrh and honey, immortelle flower and plum, honeysuckle, wood bark, leather and passion fruit — a profile built in layers by the tiercon aging, opening with dried flowers and honey and resolving toward leather and spice. At 50mL, pour it slowly: there is exactly one proper glass in the decanter.

How to Enjoy

Neat, in a tulip or small snifter, at room temperature, with time — Louis XIII is blended to be contemplated, not mixed. The Miniature is a single ceremonial pour. More from the house, including the full-size decanters, is on the Louis XIII vendor page.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 50mL the same cognac as the full-size Louis XIII?
Yes — the brand's decanter guide states the Miniature holds 5cl of the same Louis XIII blend as the larger decanters, from Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie in the same crystal-and-coffret presentation, individually numbered.

How old is Louis XIII?
It is a blend, not a single vintage: up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie, with the youngest at least 40 years old. No single age statement applies, and the brand does not present it as one.

Why does a 50mL bottle ship at 4 lb?
Because the sellable unit is the presentation piece — a crystal decanter inside its rigid red coffret — which ships with the protection a fragile crystal item requires, not as a bare glass miniature.
