Casa Vieja Reposado Tequila is a 40% ABV (80 proof), 750mL reposado tequila from Grupo Tequilero Mexico — 100% estate-grown Agave Azul from Arandas in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, rested 11 months in French oak barrels. It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor, San Diego, CA.

Eleven months is a long rest for a reposado — right at the top of the class — and Casa Vieja spends it in French oak over estate highland agave grown at 1,500–1,700 meters in Arandas' reddish clay soils. The producer, family-owned since 1997, grows, distills, and bottles everything itself. The result is a reposado with anejo manners: bright, golden, and cooked-agave first.

Tasting profile: bright, luminous gold; cooked agave, caramel and citrus on the nose; lemon and orange confirmed on the palate with a pleasant mid-weight body. Browse the Casa Vieja brand collection, more reposado tequila, and tequila at Del Mesa Liquor.

Serving note: neat, or over one cube — the French oak citrus-and-caramel balance holds up either way.
