Noble Oak Double Oak Bourbon Whiskey takes Indiana-distilled bourbon, finishes it in Ohio on Spanish sherry-seasoned oak staves, and bottles it at 90 proof (45% ABV) in this 750mL bottle.
The sherry staves — sourced through Edrington's Master of Wood — go through Noble Oak's proprietary Compression Finishing: heat-and-pressure cycles that push the bourbon deep into the wood. The result won Double Gold at the 2018 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and 94 points at the Ultimate Spirits Challenge (2018 and 2021). One tree planted per bottle via One Tree Planted.
Tasting notes
Vanilla, red berries, toasted oak, and sweet corn on the nose with a faint leathery edge. Caramel, orchard fruit, walnut, dried fruit, and cherry on the palate, with spearmint, nutmeg, and light cocoa — finishing long and smooth with lingering sherry sweetness and soft oak tannins.
