Old Elk 10 Year Old Straight Wheat Whiskey is wheat whiskey at its most decadent. Aged 10 years and bottled at 103 proof (51.5% ABV) in a 750mL bottle, it's built on a mash bill of 96% soft red winter wheat and 4% malted barley — one of the highest wheat contents in American whiskey.
Old Elk was founded in 2013 in Fort Collins, Colorado by entrepreneur Curt Richardson (founder of OtterBox), with Master Distiller Greg Metze (35+ years of distilling experience, formerly of MGP) shaping the whiskey. This 10-year collection is the first major release under new ownership — Old Elk joined Middle West Spirits of Ohio in May 2025. Every bottle is finished with Old Elk's proprietary Slow Cut™ proofing: instead of the usual 24–48 hours, the whiskey is cut to proof gradually over several weeks, keeping the spirit cool and preserving the delicate wheat congeners (official SRP $69.99).
