Freddie Noe, eighth-generation Master Distiller of the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky, launched Little Book to honor his grandfather Booker Noe's boundary-pushing approach. Each year's Chapter is a new blend; for the tenth, Noe embraced a philosophical shift — from precision blending to a more intuitive approach, "allowing the whiskey itself to lead." The blend: 14-year-old Basil Hayden bourbon, 11-year-old Knob Creek bourbon, 10-year-old Booker's bourbon, 9-year-old Baker's bourbon, and 4-year-old Jim Beam bourbon finished in sherry and toasted bourbon casks. Per the company release: deep auburn colour; layers of fig, raisin, and molasses on the nose. Full-bodied and velvety — caramel, cinnamon, and oak — finishing long with seasoned oak and raisin.
