Westland, founded in 2010 and a founding member of the American Single Malt Whiskey Commission, built this series to fold the Pacific Northwest's brewing tradition into its malt whiskey. The whiskey matures first in new American oak, ex-bourbon and ex-rye casks, then finishes in a rotating mix of Scotch ale, stout, brown ale, doppelbock, saison and stock ale casks. Batch 1 (2024) ran to 10,961 bottles; the series continues in further batches as a core-range release.
Tasting profile: dried peach, honeydew melon, eggnog cake and cocoa powder on the nose; vanilla pastry cream, caramel sauce and lavender green tea on the palate — bright and malt-forward from the beer-cask finish.
