Terrazas de los Andes Altos del Plata Malbec
Terrazas de los Andes Altos del Plata Malbec is a 750mL red wine from Luján de Cuyo, Mendoza — the fruit-forward entry range of Terrazas de los Andes, the Moët Hennessy winery built on high-altitude terraces beneath the Cordón del Plata. Winery-supplied copy places these vineyards at about 3,500 feet, where Andes meltwater and intense sun make Malbec vivid and fresh; barrel aging adds a slight toasted touch. Recent US releases list 13.5% ABV (documented listings span 13.0–13.5%). It is available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

Terraces Beneath the Cordón del Plata
Terrazas de los Andes was founded in 1996, when Moët Hennessy refurbished an 1898 Spanish-style winery in Perdriel and — under estate director Hervé Birnie-Scott — pushed planting up the Andes foothills in search of altitude. The Altos del Plata range is named for the Cordón del Plata, the silvery crest whose meltwater feeds the vineyards, and it is the range's most approachable expression: single-varietal Malbec made for fruit, freshness and a whisper of barrel toast rather than cellar weight. In 1999 the estate also partnered with Château Cheval Blanc to create Cheval des Andes. Browse the house on the Terrazas de los Andes vendor page or across the red wine collection.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Black fruit — plum and berries — with toasted hints and white-pepper spice (winery copy). Palate: Fruity and fresh, with a slight toasted touch from barrel aging. Finish: Clean, fruit-led, lightly spiced.
How to Enjoy
Serve at cool room temperature. The winery's own pairing line is barbecued red meats; burgers, grilled sausages and empanadas are equally at home.
