Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson B Bourbon Whiskey
Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson B is a barrel proof Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey — 120.2 proof (60.1% ABV), 750mL, non-chill filtered — released in 2024 as the third bottling in Wild Turkey's Single Rickhouse series. Every barrel in it came from a single warehouse: Camp Nelson B, a seven-story rickhouse built in 1946 on the highest, sunniest ground at the Camp Nelson property, and specifically from that rickhouse's sixth floor. Master Distiller Eddie Russell selected the barrels; the result is one building's microclimate, bottled undiluted. Available to order online at Del Mesa Liquor.

One Rickhouse, One Floor
The Single Rickhouse series is Russell's Reserve's argument that where a barrel sleeps matters as much as how long. The first two releases memorialised Camp Nelson C and F — Camp Nelson C was dismantled after its bottling. Camp Nelson B still stands: built in 1946, it is one of five rickhouses left on the Camp Nelson property, set at higher elevation where heat and airflow swing harder than in the valley-floor warehouses. Eddie Russell drew every barrel for this release from its sixth floor, chasing the concentrated, sun-driven maturation that only the upper reaches of a rickhouse produce — and bottled it at the 120.2 proof those barrels came out at.
Tasting Notes
Per the release notes: oak, rich vanilla, sweet cream and fruit cake on the aroma, evolving to cinnamon, spice and floral notes; cherry, raisin and dark honey on the taste, finishing with herbal clove, spearmint and thyme; and a long finish of spice, mature oak, char and pepper.
How to Enjoy
Neat, then with a measured splash of water — at 120.2 proof the second pour is effectively a second whiskey. Give it time in the glass; upper-floor barrels reward patience.
